Hey, we are staying appropirate here okay. But that Florida sun isn't being shy and is coming out strong and as a hijabi you need to figure out some way to work with it. Usually when it gets hot, people prefer taking their clothes off...well you shouldn't. Instead do what we do and wear something flowy and breezy, because when it's fitting it gives you no air circulation, that's when you really feel hot! This is one of my all time favorite tops because first off it's long sleeves so nothing to worry about there; but the material is a light jersey type that allows for some type of structure to it but is very comfortable and "breathable" as some people say. The cardigan, well it's extremely light and more so just adds more to the outfit. Sometimes I forget I'm wearing it because of how light it is. Jeans...I can't or well I can but really prefer not to wear jeans in this type of weather (so stay tuned for some other pantaloon ideas you can wear when it's blazing hot), so I grabbed my leggings. Once again, they have the "breathable" effect and are just lighter to wear compared to jeans. And yes you guys will be seeing these gladiators a lot this summer but you know I had to wear them. You can throw on any scarf that matches for this outfit, but the cheetah print with the maroon was just what I was feeling today you know what I'm saying. Well, whatever it is you're doing this summer, I hope you're enjoying it (even if it's taking summer classes)! So guys...I just might've bought another kimono. Okay no yeah I did buy another one. But okay, first off it was on sale and secondly look how cute it is! It's a different style from what I have, and it was floral *insert emoji with heart eyes*. I bought it without thinking what I could wear underneath or what scarf I could wear. There's only so many colors you can wear with this such as white, light blue, magenta, and different assortments of purple. I thought I was stuck because I had tried a white tunic underneath but it wasn't giving me the look I wanted. But then...of course as purple always does, it saved the day! And I totally forgot about this scarf color that I had, it's actually quite vibrant which is different from what I normally wear but it's good to venture out when it comes to scarf colors. Simply threw it all together and bam! You know you like it, even if it's basically another kimono outfit!

Well for all those taking exams still, oh how much I don't want to be you...but good luck, you are almost done! And for all those done, wooooo we're done!!....well until summer classes!

I didn't realize how such a simple outfit can balance out so well and look so good. First off, can we just admire the blazer. Is it an ordinary black blazer? No, no it is not. And why? Because it is actually of hijab appropriate length! Can I have a hallelujah! I was debatable about buying it seeing as it wasn't what I was looking for, but then I realized I would be doing something disappointing to all hijabis if I didn't buy it so technically I did it for all of us out there:D
But as you can see, the outfit is simple! Just added a little "flavor," I guess you could call it with the cheetah scarf and gold-chain tooth necklace (no that's not a real tooth guys).

Oh and yes of course, good luck to everyone taking their finals this week or next week or even after! We're almost done guys and then break!...well for a short time and then back to school *sigh* it never ends. Hope you guys loved the outfit and don't forget to look cute for exams!

Just writing the title already has got the song stuck in my head but hello my lovely fashionistas! It's Monday, and we all know what that means..it means 4 more days till Friday! So blogging and looking at other bloggers made me realize that people try looks that could appeal to as many as people as possible and that's good! But everyone's got their classic look and putting this together made me realize that it's been some time since I've got to wear and share my classic look of meshing pattern-blocking and color-blocking. I had actually just bought this polk-a-dot dress and even though I probably have a lot of polk-a-dot tops...eh what is one more going to do right! It's perfect for the summer and all my hijabis out there because it's loose, flowy yet flatters you and keeps you cool because of the material (wow, I should just get into advertising because you know I sold it to ya!).
I'm thinking it'll be my summer dress, or one of them for that matter. You may have felt you've seen this too many times, but sometimes you just want to your classic look so hope you still loved the outfit and see you next Monday!

This outfit makes me feel like the girl from Wild Thornberry, except I don't have a talking monkey as a friend. Ever look in your closet and say "what would happen if I put these two together?" Well that is what happened to me. At first I had thought to my comfortable jasmine black pants on them to suit the summer "look," but then I fell upon these khakis which I've truthfully had for quite some time but never actually wore, so I figured it was their time to shine. I'm usually not a fan of mixing colors such as khaki/cream and white, but sometime we need to step out of our box. And with the help of a fashion tip of a good friend of mine, the combat boots perfectly pull the colors together! The vibrant mustard yellow scarf adds the spontaneity and "ready for adventure" touch. And who says you can't accessorize when you're on an adventure, thus the arm candy! The jeaned blouse over the striped shirt seemed the appropriate cardigan to give this outfit its adventurous look. For the next few months, you'll just be hearing (or reading) me go on about how much I love this weather because for us Floridians, when it gets 60 degrees...we bring out our cup of hot cocoa and tell ourselves that we need to have pumpkin spice lattes (when we all know that we really don't because it's still not cold enough).

Okay, onto the outfit! Today's outfit is actually a favorite of mine because of how easy it is to put together but also because of how vibrant it is yet still staying with the fall theme. I guess we can say we're getting into "sweater weather" and I actually don't wear this one too often but I bring it out with this outfit because it blends so well with the colors of the floral scarf and adds a pop to the gray and white chiffon polk-a-dot shirt. Because of the length of the shirt and sweater (or long cardigan as some call it), I topped the outfit off with my boots of course but you could certainly do flats or even converse or those vans styled shoes ( I don't know the proper terminology so vans styled is what I'm going with). Hi guys! :) How's your day been so far, if you're reading this later in the week, how's your week been? I'm in quite a good mood and why not, it's Monday! I should probably do my positivity challenge right now...but I'll do it later (more like in a week).


So I was debating as to what theme I should set for this week's outfit. Because it's mid-September and they're advertising pumpkin everywhere (I mean have you seen Dunkin Donut's advertisement) so I wanted to start the fall theme, but you know living in Florida can hold you back from that. So I decided to have this outfit show that now it's time to sizzle down and cool off into the fall outfits; but of course if I bounce back to a summer outfit it's probably because it is so hot that week and wearing sued
e boots and a leather jacket just won't work. So in order to cool off, I color blocked some chilled colors that are my personal favorites, a vibrant, frosty mint and refreshing cobalt blue (get that color in your closet if it's not there yet!). What I love about these outfits is that if I want to mix colors such as this together, all I need to do is look for a scarf with those colors in it and it just wraps it all together. Gosh I just love scarves (especially my floral ones), they just complete my outfits (yes, I know I'm a hijabi so it should). And I added the braided belt just because I like to neutralize all the colors mixing together.

Water was cold!

I had to take advantage of the fact that I could get a change of scenery for my blog post this week, so I decided to do a beach bum outfit! It is so comfortable and if you ask me, super cute ( but that's a biased opinion of course). The cover up that I'm wearing is probably used as beach cover up, but since I'm a hijabi and nobody got time for bikinis, I'm wearing it as a kaftan (as my cousin and I call it). I saw this in an H&M in New York City when I was shopping and I really wasn't sure how I would work with it, let alone how it would look on me, but I had to buy it because of the cheetah and solid black on the back. When my brother saw me where it (he first asked what I was wearing), he asked why I'm wearing such dark colors and so I explained that I'm balancing with a vibrant peach coral scarf, but of course he didn't understand (or well wasn't listening). You will more than likely see this again but in a totally different look or theme I should say (yeep so excited I wish I could post it tomorrow but I can't!). I put my black high low underneath only because the material of it sat well with the kaftan but if you ever have something like this, feel free to have fun with the colors.  I tell ya, it's convenient when you have a hijabi blogger as a friend because it's like they know what scarf to get you to really....inspire you! This week's outfit was inspired by a fellow Hijabi Hero, Malikah Ebrahim, also my twinkie!
This scarf created the perfect bright, summer-fun outfit that I think is one of my favorite so far! I've realized that this summer has made me just want to wear color all the time and I'm not afraid of layering solid colors anymore because it's not as difficult as it seems, as long as you go the right scarf! Hope you guys love this outfit as much as I do and try splashing some colors together! It'll make you #ootd (outfit-of-the-day) all day, every day!

Don't you love it when it seems like you put so much effort into your outfit when all you really did was match some colors and put some shoes on? I love those days. Just as much as I love this shirt. See, there was a time when Old Navy sold 6 different types of these shirts...I bought all six kind and with no regret either! They are all super light and comfortable, with the chiffon material and oh my gosh do you see how hijabi they are?? It's spring, and so I thought to bring out some color! And I really want to go to the beach, but the shirt is the most blue I'll see for some time. I wasn't sure about the jeans, and was thinking to play safe and wear my black skinnies, but the more color the better! And the shades of red in the scarf and the jeans match perfectly...sigh love when that happens :)

As for this week's outfit, I'm sure the dress looks familiar, and instead of color clashing, I color...coordinated! It's rather simple, and I used my dress to tie everything together. Of course, the rose gold watch was the perfect accessory for the event to keep the outfit fashionable yet classy. And you know how I love putting my belt in my scarf, so I thought hey why not! A friend and I were told to host an event for the club that we are part of (Ahlul-Bayt Society) and it was supposed to be about hijab. I was thrilled because it was basically our chance to show our ideas and lead a small event. We put our heads together and came up with giving non-Muslims the chance to experience what it is like to be a hijabi (girl that wears hijab), and I think that as much of a different experience it was for those who tried it on, it was also a different experience for us! I absolutely enjoyed this and I know this won't be last time they'll be something like this.
