 Man can Florida get hot. It was so hot at the picnic yesterday, my face kind of felt like it was burning. But, hey who wouldn't come to visit here during the summer especially with all our amazing theme parks :D





          HI guys. I know I went MIA on the outfit posting for a few weeks, but I told you I'd be back! I guess I can call this outfit a classic "me" outfit because it consists a few things: 1) long and flowy, 2) a kimono (or komodo dragon as my fiancé calls it), and 3) floral print. I wore this outfit for our multi-mosque Eid picnic (which was very nice actually), because it's really light (material wise) and comfortable and it was long enough where I could wear leggings underneath instead of jeans or pants (because I honestly don't know how people do that in this weather).
But since it was for Eid, I dressed it up with a long chained necklace that I honestly haven't worn since probably high school. I think because my scarf style changed, I forgot how to wear the long necklaces. But since the high-low maxi is loose, I was able to throw it on and add a little fancy shmancy to the outfit. Of course I always have my rings...I love rings. With the komodo dragon having...oops, I mean kimono! Thanks irfan *squinty eyes to the side emoji*! The kimono has both the emerald forest green and salmon pink on it allowing for the scarf to flow well with the high-low maxi dress. Very simple outfit, even you could put something like this together! Well hope you guys loved the outfit and are having a fun-in-the-sun (or shade preferably) summer!

Hey, we are staying appropirate here okay. But that Florida sun isn't being shy and is coming out strong and as a hijabi you need to figure out some way to work with it. Usually when it gets hot, people prefer taking their clothes off...well you shouldn't. Instead do what we do and wear something flowy and breezy, because when it's fitting it gives you no air circulation, that's when you really feel hot! This is one of my all time favorite tops because first off it's long sleeves so nothing to worry about there; but the material is a light jersey type that allows for some type of structure to it but is very comfortable and "breathable" as some people say. The cardigan, well it's extremely light and more so just adds more to the outfit. Sometimes I forget I'm wearing it because of how light it is. Jeans...I can't or well I can but really prefer not to wear jeans in this type of weather (so stay tuned for some other pantaloon ideas you can wear when it's blazing hot), so I grabbed my leggings. Once again, they have the "breathable" effect and are just lighter to wear compared to jeans. And yes you guys will be seeing these gladiators a lot this summer but you know I had to wear them. You can throw on any scarf that matches for this outfit, but the cheetah print with the maroon was just what I was feeling today you know what I'm saying. Well, whatever it is you're doing this summer, I hope you're enjoying it (even if it's taking summer classes)! It was a while ago (well sort of) that they asked me what I would like for my 21st birthday since it's a big one (and the last big one for that matter). Ideas were shared and than I had no clue what was going on, well somewhat...then I showed up. And it was seriously the best 21st birthday party ever. Did I know how much trouble they went through to do this? Well not how much, but I know they went through too much. Do I know why they did it? Not exactly. Do I love them for it? Yes. It's not everyday you get extremely lucky to have people put a lot of their time and energy for you to have just one day of awesomeness but memories that will be kept forever (sorry guys, ever since I got engaged I think I got more sappy).  All I know is that one, they're going to remind me of this whenever they need a favor (lol possibly); two, they're getting it big time, and three, I have no idea what I'd do without them.

I didn't realize how such a simple outfit can balance out so well and look so good. First off, can we just admire the blazer. Is it an ordinary black blazer? No, no it is not. And why? Because it is actually of hijab appropriate length! Can I have a hallelujah! I was debatable about buying it seeing as it wasn't what I was looking for, but then I realized I would be doing something disappointing to all hijabis if I didn't buy it so technically I did it for all of us out there:D
But as you can see, the outfit is simple! Just added a little "flavor," I guess you could call it with the cheetah scarf and gold-chain tooth necklace (no that's not a real tooth guys).

Oh and yes of course, good luck to everyone taking their finals this week or next week or even after! We're almost done guys and then break!...well for a short time and then back to school *sigh* it never ends. Hope you guys loved the outfit and don't forget to look cute for exams!

Just writing the title already has got the song stuck in my head but hello my lovely fashionistas! It's Monday, and we all know what that means..it means 4 more days till Friday! So blogging and looking at other bloggers made me realize that people try looks that could appeal to as many as people as possible and that's good! But everyone's got their classic look and putting this together made me realize that it's been some time since I've got to wear and share my classic look of meshing pattern-blocking and color-blocking. I had actually just bought this polk-a-dot dress and even though I probably have a lot of polk-a-dot tops...eh what is one more going to do right! It's perfect for the summer and all my hijabis out there because it's loose, flowy yet flatters you and keeps you cool because of the material (wow, I should just get into advertising because you know I sold it to ya!).
I'm thinking it'll be my summer dress, or one of them for that matter. You may have felt you've seen this too many times, but sometimes you just want to your classic look so hope you still loved the outfit and see you next Monday!

Selfie all day everyday

Everyone goes through trial and error when it comes to finding the right one, but this time I think I've found the one...Yes you guys, I've finally found my perfect emerald green hijab...what did you think I was talking about?
There's a perk of having your brother live in the UK (besides visiting him and having him bring you chocolate), and it's being able to actually shop at hijab stores in the UK and check out their amazing collections, because let's be real here guys, they've got the good stuff.
I know Monday is actually a quite gloomy day here, but Florida is starting to pick up the heat so I figured it's time to bring out the beach bummin' outfits. And trying to a beach bum and a hijabi can be quite difficult, but don't worry I got you! I like to keep it simple and breezy with a chiffon black dress that have slits on the side giving you just the right air (of course with leggings underneath), spiced it up with this cheetah print, and then topped it off with this gorgeous emerald green scarf! Oh and how could I forget...my sunhat! I mean who said you can't have hats on hijabs right? Got the best sister-in-law for picking this up right before actually to top my beach bummin' outfit off perfectly! Wasn't much to the outfit but it made a great combo! Hope you guys love it as much as I do!

This outfit makes me feel like the girl from Wild Thornberry, except I don't have a talking monkey as a friend. Ever look in your closet and say "what would happen if I put these two together?" Well that is what happened to me. At first I had thought to my comfortable jasmine black pants on them to suit the summer "look," but then I fell upon these khakis which I've truthfully had for quite some time but never actually wore, so I figured it was their time to shine. I'm usually not a fan of mixing colors such as khaki/cream and white, but sometime we need to step out of our box. And with the help of a fashion tip of a good friend of mine, the combat boots perfectly pull the colors together! The vibrant mustard yellow scarf adds the spontaneity and "ready for adventure" touch. And who says you can't accessorize when you're on an adventure, thus the arm candy! The jeaned blouse over the striped shirt seemed the appropriate cardigan to give this outfit its adventurous look. Okay so every hijabi has that one struggle. My struggle is finding maxi scarves, which are just scarves that have more material because it covers a lot and gives a lot of material to work with. But, my hijabi (or whoever is reading this) friends I have found my solution...and it's called Abaya Republic. Haven't heard of them? Well you're just about to hear all about them.

A friend of mine has always had a different and rather unique style when it comes to her abayas (a black long cover up commonly worn by Muslim women). Honestly, sometimes I don't know how she pulls off some of the ones she wears, but she does and she makes it look easy for people like me who have a very specific style when it comes to abayas. She usually shops in Dubai, which I'm sure many of you know, is quite far from this side of the world. So she had this idea to bring those styles to this side! Best part of this all is how close she is to my house because after I saw her collection of abayas and scarves, I know I've found the place to go to solve my hijabi struggle and create and find my own unique abaya style. I honestly am quite picky when it comes to abayas because of my height and what not, but she has styles that I would truthfully test out and see how they look. Which I did during our little photoshoot, making me fall in love with one of the abayas I tried on! All in all, what I'm trying to say is that you've got to check out what this girl and her sister-in-law have! For the next few months, you'll just be hearing (or reading) me go on about how much I love this weather because for us Floridians, when it gets 60 degrees...we bring out our cup of hot cocoa and tell ourselves that we need to have pumpkin spice lattes (when we all know that we really don't because it's still not cold enough).

Okay, onto the outfit! Today's outfit is actually a favorite of mine because of how easy it is to put together but also because of how vibrant it is yet still staying with the fall theme. I guess we can say we're getting into "sweater weather" and I actually don't wear this one too often but I bring it out with this outfit because it blends so well with the colors of the floral scarf and adds a pop to the gray and white chiffon polk-a-dot shirt. Because of the length of the shirt and sweater (or long cardigan as some call it), I topped the outfit off with my boots of course but you could certainly do flats or even converse or those vans styled shoes ( I don't know the proper terminology so vans styled is what I'm going with). Gotta love candids #cheesinhard

So I finally bought this button down denim shirt that I've been looking for and it had studs on the shoulders so I just had to get it. But, I was having a tough time figuring out how to wear it properly, until one day the lights finally turned in my brain and I thought, um of course a black maxi will make this shirt hijab appropriate and super cute...and it did! So the outfit is quite simple as I took the shirt and tucked it in to make it look more polished I suppose. The light denim I feel gave me a lot of scarves to work with, but I really wanted to do this deep red just because I loved the mix of it with the gold studs and the contrast on the denim. The watch, rings, and purse maintain the "classiness" of the outfit and add the nice touches to make it a perfect outfit for a shopping day at the outlets or a lunch date with a friend or even a surprise birthday party (because that's where I wore this)! A friend and I were told to host an event for the club that we are part of (Ahlul-Bayt Society) and it was supposed to be about hijab. I was thrilled because it was basically our chance to show our ideas and lead a small event. We put our heads together and came up with giving non-Muslims the chance to experience what it is like to be a hijabi (girl that wears hijab), and I think that as much of a different experience it was for those who tried it on, it was also a different experience for us! I absolutely enjoyed this and I know this won't be last time they'll be something like this.   Hello fashion lovers! Today's outfit is a very special one. Not only because it contains my favorite pair of shoes, but because I decided to YOLO and enter into a H&M competition across the nation! But we'll talk about that later. Yes, I know what you're thinking, "is she wearing a leather jacket and combat boots in the summer?" And the answer is yes, why yes I am! You can never get ready for fall too early:)

 I know I'm repeating my green skinny jeans again, but let's just say this outfit wouldn't be what it is without them. Let's start with the dress; it's a mint high-low that is made of a slightly sheer but soft linen material giving it the right the "flowiness" especially being cinched at the waist-line giving it loose pleats throughout the dress. It gives the outfit a sweet, chique look,but by adding the leather jacket and combat boots give it just the right amount of edge. What I like most about the leather jacket (which is also another necessary essential in your closet) is that it's not one of those biker/ punk leather jackets,but still gives you a 'bad' look, which is of course topped off with the aviators and boots. The scarf has the appropriate shade of green leaves and collage of light pink, yellow, and purple flowers, blending well with both the green skinny jeans and mint dress. This scarf does not clash but correlates with the braided belt (turned into a head band) giving a whole Grecian ("Greek") look to this scarf style. Not only that, but the light shades help match the nude pink color of the bag, which if you ask me, nude pink (with rose gold) and mint is great pastel combination. I know I said that this outfit would be incomplete without the green skinny jeans, and well that's not a lie, but what truly wraps up this outfit and just makes me love it so much are my boots. When I saw these combat boots on overstock.com, it was like love at first click; that's when I knew, they were the one for me. They make any outfit from plain, to giving an edgy-vintage look, and I absolutely love that. Do get used to these boots because they will reappear very often as the fall/winter season come in. I just hope you love them as much as I do:)
