Yes I took this with a selfie stick!

Man can Florida get hot. It was so hot at the picnic yesterday, my face kind of felt like it was burning. But, hey who wouldn't come to visit here during the summer especially with all our amazing theme parks :D

HI guys. I know I went MIA on the outfit posting for a few weeks, but I told you I'd be back! I guess I can call this outfit a classic "me" outfit because it consists a few things: 1) long and flowy, 2) a kimono (or komodo dragon as my fiancé calls it), and 3) floral print. I wore this outfit for our multi-mosque Eid picnic (which was very nice actually), because it's really light (material wise) and comfortable and it was long enough where I could wear leggings underneath instead of jeans or pants (because I honestly don't know how people do that in this weather).
But since it was for Eid, I dressed it up with a long chained necklace that I honestly haven't worn since probably high school. I think because my scarf style changed, I forgot how to wear the long necklaces. But since the high-low maxi is loose, I was able to throw it on and add a little fancy shmancy to the outfit. Of course I always have my rings...I love rings. With the komodo dragon having...oops, I mean kimono! Thanks irfan *squinty eyes to the side emoji*! The kimono has both the emerald forest green and salmon pink on it allowing for the scarf to flow well with the high-low maxi dress. Very simple outfit, even you could put something like this together! Well hope you guys loved the outfit and are having a fun-in-the-sun (or shade preferably) summer!

Hey, we are staying appropirate here okay. But that Florida sun isn't being shy and is coming out strong and as a hijabi you need to figure out some way to work with it. Usually when it gets hot, people prefer taking their clothes off...well you shouldn't. Instead do what we do and wear something flowy and breezy, because when it's fitting it gives you no air circulation, that's when you really feel hot! This is one of my all time favorite tops because first off it's long sleeves so nothing to worry about there; but the material is a light jersey type that allows for some type of structure to it but is very comfortable and "breathable" as some people say. The cardigan, well it's extremely light and more so just adds more to the outfit. Sometimes I forget I'm wearing it because of how light it is. Jeans...I can't or well I can but really prefer not to wear jeans in this type of weather (so stay tuned for some other pantaloon ideas you can wear when it's blazing hot), so I grabbed my leggings. Once again, they have the "breathable" effect and are just lighter to wear compared to jeans. And yes you guys will be seeing these gladiators a lot this summer but you know I had to wear them. You can throw on any scarf that matches for this outfit, but the cheetah print with the maroon was just what I was feeling today you know what I'm saying. Well, whatever it is you're doing this summer, I hope you're enjoying it (even if it's taking summer classes)! Stay tuned for some more summer fun outfits and of course Ramadhan is around the corner so you know what that means...I'll have a date every night (yes, my fiance knows how terrible my jokes are)!

Just writing the title already has got the song stuck in my head but hello my lovely fashionistas! It's Monday, and we all know what that means..it means 4 more days till Friday! So blogging and looking at other bloggers made me realize that people try looks that could appeal to as many as people as possible and that's good! But everyone's got their classic look and putting this together made me realize that it's been some time since I've got to wear and share my classic look of meshing pattern-blocking and color-blocking. I had actually just bought this polk-a-dot dress and even though I probably have a lot of polk-a-dot tops...eh what is one more going to do right! It's perfect for the summer and all my hijabis out there because it's loose, flowy yet flatters you and keeps you cool because of the material (wow, I should just get into advertising because you know I sold it to ya!).
I'm thinking it'll be my summer dress, or one of them for that matter. You may have felt you've seen this too many times, but sometimes you just want to your classic look so hope you still loved the outfit and see you next Monday!

Selfie all day everyday

Everyone goes through trial and error when it comes to finding the right one, but this time I think I've found the one...Yes you guys, I've finally found my perfect emerald green hijab...what did you think I was talking about?
There's a perk of having your brother live in the UK (besides visiting him and having him bring you chocolate), and it's being able to actually shop at hijab stores in the UK and check out their amazing collections, because let's be real here guys, they've got the good stuff.
I know Monday is actually a quite gloomy day here, but Florida is starting to pick up the heat so I figured it's time to bring out the beach bummin' outfits. And trying to a beach bum and a hijabi can be quite difficult, but don't worry I got you! I like to keep it simple and breezy with a chiffon black dress that have slits on the side giving you just the right air (of course with leggings underneath), spiced it up with this cheetah print, and then topped it off with this gorgeous emerald green scarf! Oh and how could I forget...my sunhat! I mean who said you can't have hats on hijabs right? Got the best sister-in-law for picking this up right before actually to top my beach bummin' outfit off perfectly! Wasn't much to the outfit but it made a great combo! Hope you guys love it as much as I do!

We all have these times where the shopping was so good and we loved what we bought so much that we figure out as many different outfits as possible around that article of clothing. I just got this new cardigan of a style I didn't think would suit me but ended up wearing it to three different events on three different days. What can I say, it fuels my creativity! Hey, at least I'm using it to the best of its abilities. But on another note, have you guys noticed something different (*cough cough* look towards the shoes)? Yes, yes I actually did it. I have finally bought black combat boots. I didn't think this would happen because I wasn't too fond of the idea of black boots on outfits but now they have made their purpose in my closet. Oh don't worry I still love my camel tan ones a lot more, but these ones are just super cute and actually an essential;I'm planning on changing them up a little with a DIY activity that will hopefully be successful, but we'll see since it is I who is doing it.
Oh I can't forget about the scarf! It's also a new addition to the scarf collection; there was just something about the print that made me want it, along with the color diversity that makes it quite versatile.

Selfie with the photographer!

This will be the last fashion post for some time but do still keep posted because I'll be showing you other things that you may like to add to your closet.
Hope you guys have a wonderful week and don't forget to wear a cute outfit when buying your PSLs (pumpkin spice lattes), even if you're in Florida!

Hi guys! :) How's your day been so far, if you're reading this later in the week, how's your week been? I'm in quite a good mood and why not, it's Monday! I should probably do my positivity challenge right now...but I'll do it later (more like in a week).

So I was debating as to what theme I should set for this week's outfit. Because it's mid-September and they're advertising pumpkin everywhere (I mean have you seen Dunkin Donut's advertisement) so I wanted to start the fall theme, but you know living in Florida can hold you back from that. So I decided to have this outfit show that now it's time to sizzle down and cool off into the fall outfits; but of course if I bounce back to a summer outfit it's probably because it is so hot that week and wearing sued
e boots and a leather jacket just won't work. So in order to cool off, I color blocked some chilled colors that are my personal favorites, a vibrant, frosty mint and refreshing cobalt blue (get that color in your closet if it's not there yet!). What I love about these outfits is that if I want to mix colors such as this together, all I need to do is look for a scarf with those colors in it and it just wraps it all together. Gosh I just love scarves (especially my floral ones), they just complete my outfits (yes, I know I'm a hijabi so it should). And I added the braided belt just because I like to neutralize all the colors mixing together.

Well I hope you guys loved this rather easy and cute outfit and get excited for the fall outfits, because I know I am!

You guys...there's a week of Ramadhan left. Am I the only one that is processing that Ramadhan like..JUST started? *sigh* I hate when it flies by so fast. But, moving on, today's outfit is quite pink! And I honestly never thought I'd see myself in something so "girly" as I first thought it was, but this is one of my favorite maxis because it's ombre! And of course, I scarf searched and was looking for a scarf to match and at the time of putting this outfit together, this floral scarf was my favorite and just happened to match with everything, including this! So I worked with the colors and put a good length gray cardigan on top. As for accessories, the nude bag with studs was the perfect match (and you know how I love my studs to add some edge), a few pearl rings and a cute bracelet that yes has a butterfly on it (I surprisingly did not choose this bracelet....my brother did).

I feel like Uncle Sam...but hey it's your turn!

So you guys have seen my Ramadhan style and I've seen a few yours through your #myramadhanootn posts, which I've loved but it's towards the end of Ramadhan, and that can only mean one thing...eid outfits! I can't wait to show you guys what I'm wearing (yes, I've already thought about it), but more than anything I want to see what you guys are wearing! And since I figured I'd love it so much, I would want to blog about it! So give me a chance to feature my last Ramadhan Eid post on your outfits and send me your pictures by e-mailing me at fjaffer10@gmail.com. I'm so excited to see what you guys have in mind!

A selfie my cousin took while scarf fixing

It's that time.....FIFA World Cup 2014! Being on vacation really threw off my posting time, but as I always say, better late than never! So as you saw last week, I added some new stuff to my closet and so majority of this week's outfit is quite new. I've been really wanting to wear crop tops, because they are always so cute...but that can be kind of difficult when you're a hijabi...until you figure a way around it :D So one, you can wear a crop top on a maxi easily! Or (and this may be a little more complicated), but you can wear it as I'm wearing it here! The only reason it is complicated is because you have to look for the right black shirt (or slip) underneath that isn't too snug ( obviously in order to maintain hijabiness) but also not too flowy where it makes it look like you don't know how to wear your clothes. I bought this crop top because it is so comfortable and light, and I've always wanted a shirt with hearts on it! Since it was about the World Cup, I felt a shirt with hearts for all the soccer lovers out there worked. And of course since I think any shape can pattern with other shapes, I conveniently found a scarf that had a world map on it with a numerous amount of flags and thus coming up with the World Cup outfit!

I tell ya, it's convenient when you have a hijabi blogger as a friend because it's like they know what scarf to get you to really....inspire you! This week's outfit was inspired by a fellow Hijabi Hero, Malikah Ebrahim, also my twinkie!
This scarf created the perfect bright, summer-fun outfit that I think is one of my favorite so far! I've realized that this summer has made me just want to wear color all the time and I'm not afraid of layering solid colors anymore because it's not as difficult as it seems, as long as you go the right scarf! Hope you guys love this outfit as much as I do and try splashing some colors together! It'll make you #ootd (outfit-of-the-day) all day, every day!

The uncalled for pictures

Don't you love it when it seems like you put so much effort into your outfit when all you really did was match some colors and put some shoes on? I love those days. Just as much as I love this shirt. See, there was a time when Old Navy sold 6 different types of these shirts...I bought all six kind and with no regret either! They are all super light and comfortable, with the chiffon material and oh my gosh do you see how hijabi they are?? It's spring, and so I thought to bring out some color! And I really want to go to the beach, but the shirt is the most blue I'll see for some time. I wasn't sure about the jeans, and was thinking to play safe and wear my black skinnies, but the more color the better! And the shades of red in the scarf and the jeans match perfectly...sigh love when that happens :)
Well you guys hope you love this outfit and are also dressing spring-y (I make up my own words sometimes)! Also, I know exams are coming up (well for college students) so good luck to all of you and remember, dress cute on exam days (as weird as that sounds)!

This outfit just sums up the color blocking and pattern blocking to tee so not much explaining is necessary (I think I almost rhymed there:D), but this week I decided to show the people behind stylebyfj! These girls aren't the only ones that I've helped me get to where I am, but they've done more than I can ask for and I'm always so happy and blessed when I realize that I have them to go back to for anything. Both are extremely talented themselves in make up and hair, two departments which I have very little talent in. They're basically my left and right wing, but sh they don't need to know I love them that much. Well, hope you guys loved this week's outfit!

A friend and I were told to host an event for the club that we are part of (Ahlul-Bayt Society) and it was supposed to be about hijab. I was thrilled because it was basically our chance to show our ideas and lead a small event. We put our heads together and came up with giving non-Muslims the chance to experience what it is like to be a hijabi (girl that wears hijab), and I think that as much of a different experience it was for those who tried it on, it was also a different experience for us! I absolutely enjoyed this and I know this won't be last time they'll be something like this. Enjoy the pics and of course it was Monday (which means I'm blogging late hehe sorry), so check out my outfit, I think it worked out pretty well :) Hope you guys have a good rest of the week!
